The Doctor Directory is a free online directory of 72,892 US doctor profiles across 33 specialties. Every profile is built from the doctor's public record in the NPPES NPI Registry, the national provider database run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and shows the name, credential, NPI number, specialty taxonomy and primary practice city. A listing is not an endorsement, a quality ranking or a recommendation. The site is operated by WETYR Corporation.

Where does the doctor data come from?

Only from the NPI Registry fields above. Of the 72,892 profiles, 57,091 MD, 7,385 DO, 4,782 with another credential and 3,634 with no credential on file. Providers report their own NPI details to CMS, so a practice address can lag behind a recent move; confirm the address, availability and accepted insurance with the office before a visit.

What does the directory not do?

The Doctor Directory does not rate, rank or review doctors, does not verify licenses itself, and does not provide medical care or medical advice. Earlier versions of the site showed star scores, research and procedure counts, travel availability and "elite" labels that did not come from any verified source; they have been removed.

Look up the doctor's NPI number in the NPPES NPI Registry, confirm an active license and any public discipline with your state medical board's license lookup (in Florida, the Department of Health license verification), and check board certification with ABMS Certification Matters. If you have Medicare, Medicare Care Compare lists doctors and clinicians enrolled in Medicare.

How do I contact a doctor through EliteMD?

Open the doctor's profile page and select Send Inquiry or Request Consultation, then complete the short form with your name, email and the reason for your visit. The request is submitted through EliteMD's consultation form, and direct contact details are not shown on the profile.
